Gloucester Athletic Club races and events have made contributions to a variety of charities over the years.

Last year (2007) some of our events raised over £1,300 for Amberley Ridge School towards their projects.

The Gloucester Half Marathon in 2008 is again raising money for Amberley Ridge School. See note below from the school.

Amberley Ridge Project

We are trying to raise money to create a room with soft padding and subtle lighting and music, that is both robust and child friendly.

The room would be used for children with challenging behaviour to calm down and recuperate in.  It would also be used as a multi sensory room at other scheduled times.

Children using this room would be monitored at all times. This calming and safe environment would hopefully reduce the need for physical intervention.

We are in the process of getting quotes but the amount we are hoping to raise is between £10,000 and £15.000.
