Gloucester Athletic Club has been recognised by the sport’s National Governing Body, England Athletics, as an ‘Ambassador Club’ for its work with athletes with a disability. This prestigious title comes as a reward for the Club’s outstanding work in this field and, in particular, the work of its three disability coaches, Helen and Richard Hoy and lead disability coach, Bob Purcell.
The Disability Group was first established in 2014 since when it has developed into a thriving squad of wheelchair racers and seated throwers.
We welcome and support all disabled runners, jumpers and throwers, ambulant or seated, of all ages and those with sensory or cognitive impairment.
For further information, contact Bob Purcell (e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01452 417990), or come along to the Blackbridge track on Sunday mornings between 10:30 – 12:30 for a chat and to see the groups in action.
