Track & Field


Track & Field covers a wide variety of disciplines including sprints; hurdles; middle distance; steeplechase; long and triple jumps; high jump and pole vault; and throwing the shot, discus, hammer and javelin.

  

For training sessions, please turn up for a 6.30pm start at the track - bring a water bottle, waterproof top (in case of rain!), and wear appropriate kit and a suitable pair of shoes to run in. If it is your first time down, please ask for either Bob Purcell, Garry Hunter or Richard Blackwell and they will look after you and ensure you are placed in the most appropriate group.

 

There is a track fee payable each time you train - this is £1.50 for club members and £3.00 for non-members. We do not insist on membership right from the start as we like you to experience a couple of sessions to make sure we are right for you first.

Note: all athletes must check with their coaches whether the Sunday session for that week is on - there are many League fixtures on throughout the summer and coaches may well be committed to either team managing and/or officiating (not to mention the athletes who will be competing...!)
